If you’re like me, cooking and baking were literally the ONLY thing getting you through 2020. When things got serious, I baked my loved ones cookies to cheer everyone up. When the lockdowns started, I baked breads and pies to stave off the boredom. And now that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel (let’s hope), I’ve been busy mentally planning the menu for my first post-COVID dinner party!
But here’s the thing, after basically a year of constant use, my food processor is a little busted. The dough blade has been through it (including a few falls courtesy of my kids and pets), and now there’s a little chip in the plastic that prevents the piece from sitting properly in the bowl. It can make kneading next to impossible — and I don’t know if you’ve ever had to clean sourdough out from a tiny plastic crevasse, but it’s a huge pain in the butt.
It was clear to me that I would need a new dough blade if I was going to keep up my baking (and stay sane). Trouble is, I’m a thrifty person, so I wasn’t thrilled about shelling out for a whole new machine (especially when there were PARTS of my current processor, like the bowl) that we’re still in good working order. So, I hit the internet looking for places to buy Cuisinart food processor parts.
I checked eBay, Amazon, all the usual suspects. None of them had exactly what I needed — either it was the wrong model or the wrong part or the wrong price. Honestly, I was getting close to throwing in the towel, holding my nose, and buying a whole new piece despite the nasty sticker price. But thank God I decided to try one more Google search…

Seriously, I don’t know how I made it this far in life without knowing about this store! They even had replacement food processor parts for a variety of Cuisinart models. I was able to order my replacement part (a new dough blade for my DLC-8) and it arrived at my door in less than a week. The new piece was in great condition, it fit my old machine perfectly, and just like that I was able to get back to my quarantine baking routine. I even made homemade pizza dough that day to celebrate the return of my processor and test out the new blade. It worked perfectly and the family was thrilled!
I could not be happier with the purchase I made from Kitchen Works, Inc. The next time something in my kitchen needs replacing, I know that I’ll be heading to their website before I check out any other store.
